Amblebrook Announces 5K Race and Fun Walk to Support Cognitive Wellness Initiatives

Amblebrook is honored to announce its second annual Memorial 5K Race and Fun Walk, scheduled for Saturday, September 14th, 2024. This year’s event will be a heartfelt tribute to the Amblebrook residents and loved ones who have been impacted by dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.

A Cause That Matters

All proceeds from the 5K/Fun Walk will be donated to the Adams County Office for Aging (ACOFA) to support their vital initiatives and programs. ACOFA offers a comprehensive range of services for residents over 60 in Adams County, including direct personal care, caregiver support, and adult day services, many of which are provided at no cost or on a sliding scale.

ACOFA’s current goals include providing 50 compassion therapy pets to county residents in need, a mission that aligns with Amblebrook’s dedication to fostering a healthy and supportive environment for all.

Post‑Race Celebration

After crossing the finish line, participants and supporters are invited to join a post‑race celebration from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The celebration will feature a variety of activities and entertainment, including:

  • Flower Arranging Class by Butterfly Blooms
  • Mini Pumpkin Painting with pumpkins donated by Hollabaugh Bros. Inc.
  • Free Memory Screenings provided by ACOFA
  • Delicious Food from Big Dogs Red Hot Buns, Gettysburg Olive Oil Company, The Berry Bin, and the veteran‑owned MunchiesBasics food truck
  • Vendor Booths from local artisans, including Gourds ETC and Martin’s Shoes, as well as a raffle featuring items crafted by Amblebrook residents
